KINGSBRIDGE PRESS RELEASE

April 24, 2009

The Kingsbridge Business Improvement District in cooperation with Friends of Van Cortlandt Park will be improving the Kingsbridge Shopping District this summer.

Student interns from the Park will be pruning trees, planting in the tree pits, mulching, removing dead tree stumps and other jobs to clean and improve the trees within the BID District.

l to r: student interns:
Malicca Mility, Erik Ogard and Ekere S. Enyiema, Outreach Assistant.

The Kingsbridge BID was formed in 2001 to improve the appearance of the Kingsbridge Shopping District and promote the District to shoppers and for merchants.  Ongoing programs include daily street sanitation, monthly graffiti removal, holiday lighting in the District and promotional marketing through advertising.

The services provided by the Kingsbridge BID are paid for through a special tax assessment on property owners within the Kingsbridge BID boundaries.  These property owners also serve on the BID’s Board of Directors and approve projects and expenditures of the BID.
