The Kingsbridge Business Improvement District recently received an excellent
performance evaluation rating from New York City's Department of Small
Business Services. As a result, the BID received a five year contract renewal
with that agency.
The Kingsbridge BID is one of 46 Business Improvement Districts established in
New York City to provide supplemental sanitation, marketing and promotional services
to local business communities. They are funded by a special tax assessment from
property owners within the District.
The Kingsbridge District Management Association/ Kingsbridge Business Improvement
District was formed in May 2001 with an annual budget of $235,000. A Board of
Directors meets bi-monthly to oversee and approve the activities of the BID.
The Kingsbridge BID encompasses the commercial area along Broadway from W 230th
to W 236th Sts. and along W 231st St. from the Major Deegan Expressway to Corlear Ave.
